I Am Learning About 2D and 3D shapes.

Room 10 and 11 have been learning about 2D and 3D shapes.

We made our shape with toothpicks and marshmallows, yum! After we made our shape we got to eat it. 

"We are learning to make shapes. I found it easy to make a triangle. It was tricky to say how many sides it had."

We Are Learning To retell the story

"We are learning to retell the story. It is easy to say the beginning. It is hard to say everything that happened in the story"

I Am Learning To write a recount

I Am Learning To write a recount about blowing bubbles. 

I will be successful when I have:

• A title 
• An introduction
• Sequence words to begin my sentences
• Used the 5 W's (who, what, when, where, why)

"We are learning to write about bubbles. I like drawing the picture. I find it tricky to write words."

We Are Learning our letters and sounds.

I can get my lips ready for the first sound. I can say the first sound in the word.

"We are learning our to sound out words. We find it easy to say the 'z and x' sound. We find it tricky to use our letter sounds when sounding out words.  We sometimes get confused with the letters b,d and p because they look the same. We can keep practising this at home and at school." 

We Are Learning To write numbers to 20.

"We are learning to write numbers to 20. I find it easy to write the numbers to 10. I find it tricky to write the numbers after 10. I can keep practising on the whiteboards. "

I Am Learning To use describing words

For Mother’s Day we did some special Mother’s Day writing using Word Art.

"I am writing about Mum. I can talk about my Mum. I find it tricky to write words."

I Am Learning To show my values on a school trip.

Today all the Year 1 and 2 children went to the Buddhist Temple and participated in lots of different activities. We had so much fun learning about the 3G's. At the end we all got a red horse for showing our values.
